Report Online Gaming Fraud

report online gaming fraud
What exactly happens after I report my credit card statement for fraud?

After viewing my credit card statement for this month, I noticed several online transactions that I have not made online. I’ve reported this to my credit card company as fraud. They cancelled my card and send me a new one.

I am wondering what will happen now? Who is going to lose money due to the fraud transactions that was made? The credit card company or the merchant? The bank said I won’t be liable more than $50.

Also will they find the person who did this and prosecute him/her? They would have to trace his/her IP address that was used to order these online as none of the transactions include shipping address.

Products ordered on my credit card:
- NOD32 1-year anti-virus subscription
- 1-year Rapidshare Premium account
- PC Games on steampowered.com
(total value nearly $400)
Thanks in advance to anyone who leaves a good answer.
