Are there any legal considerations to Video Game competitions in UK (not online)?
Can someone please give me some advice.
If I want to set up a neighbourhood video game challenge in a London suburb, on say a PS3 title, where anyone who wants to compete, on say, Fifa 10, can meet up one day, or over a period of days, to the local hall, and have a knockout competition, would there be any legalities or provisions that I would need to make or consdier?
For example,
a) Would I need to get consent from Sony
b) Would I need to have a gambling licence if there is an entrance fee and prize money?
c) If there was an entrance fee, but the prize money went to Charity, would that make a difference?
d) Would I need to pay PRS fees?
Any other info would be useful please.

All you need worry about is health and safety, i think it’s Malaysia that has the highest number of lan party related deaths due to lack of sleep and abuse of strong stimulants. You would need a paramedic volunteer and health and safety to check the electrics and fire escapes were suffiecient.
