Dynamic vs Static IP’s on Wireless Aircards…. Can I do this?
I play an rpg typ game online, and I am interested in setting up some other characters, however, this game only allows one character per person. I have several computers, and I want to set up a new character on each of the 3 (against the rules, i know, just want to know how this works). I was going to get 3 wireless USB aircards from sprint so each computer will have seperate IP addresses, however I learned that they have dynamic IP addresses, so it changes everytime u log on. **QUESTION** If I get only 1 card, since the IP changes everytime I logon, can I use that and be undetectable on all 3 computers, or will they catch me? Also, is there a way to change my IP location to like canada or mexico or something via some type of software? Last question, If I get a chicago phone # on the aircard and use it in Texas, what location will my IP address show on their end?
not sure how the game works, are you sure its based on IP? since most people have dynamic IP it may be done by login once you login to the game
anyway as for your questions if you setup connection sharing between the 3 PCs they will share the single public IP and if dynamic it will change, so if the game does check IPs it will see only 1 IP for all 3 PCs,
and no you can’t change your IP location, it is assigned by the ISP, if the ISP is a mobile data carrier it will connect to the closest cell tower and that location will give you the IP, phone number has nothing to do with it.
