Is it possible to reduce your high ping on your computer when playing multiplayer games online?
I own a game called Battlefield 2 for my PC, but when I play it on multiplayer it always lags, and I am always getting kicked off the server for having “High Ping”. Does anyone know what’s going on or how to fix it? I would much appreciate it!
Ping, is the amount of time it takes for the game server to receive information from your computer and vis versa. Generally it means you have a slow internet connection if the ping is high. If you dont have a slow connection here are some tips:
Make sure you are playing on an american server, or look at the latency of servers before you enter to see if some are better than others.
Make sure you, and perhaps anybody in your household (if you have a router splitting the connection to more than 1 computer) are not using bandwidth excessively. For example downloading songs or movies via bittorrent or limewire. Even watching lots of youtube videos can cause problems like these.
Other programs may be using the internet, make sure you close them before opening your game.
Lastly, if your computer is at the minimum requirements for the game, sometimes this causes the server to kick to client.
