Online Gaming Ping Booster

problem with internet browsing speed?

recently i have problem browsing the net. i checked speedtest.net and i get 700kbps-1mbps result.. (the original ISP speed i avail is 512kbps). i did some ping test in run command and i dont get any time out. i dont have that much lag when playing online games.

but the problem is browsing the net. it really sux. but there are some websites that loads very quick. and there are others that doesn’t load at all. i tried both IE and MF and they’re both the same.
so any idea what cause this? btw i tried advanced system care internet booster last time and i optimized 512kbps. not sure if that’s the problem or just coincidence.
PS: haven’t paid internet bill for 3 weeks so im also thinking that might be another possible cause

If you have always had this problem it means it all depends on your ISP. Don’t confuse among download speed, browsing speed, local and international speed!
1st If you are using any download manager, notice that you will have many “sub” connection for 1 file download. In reality this is almost how download booster etc works. they use different connection from same server to actually maximize the total output.
Suppose 1 “sub” connection can give a maximum of 20kBps, downloading from 6 simultaneous one will multiply it 6 times, (i.e 120kBps, largely sufficient to have 64kbps for an adsl 512kbps).
In contrast if you were to use only 1 main connection to download a file, you will get a max of 20kBps. Using 6 sub connection, even if one lags the other 5 remaining will total to 20kBps x 5 = 100kBps ( which is largely sufficient to be unnoticeable with a 512kbps internet connection)

That’s what happens in reality when browsing the net or watching a youtube clip. You have 1 main connection for data transfer! And if your ISP settings allow several connection option, you will suffer browsing speed, and chopping youtube clips.

These ISP settings are useful for e.g file sharing software, ISP who offers splittable bandwidth will much easily connect to seed/peers on torrent client, but browsing speed will definitely be slow.

Some ISP offers different bandwidth speed for local and international one. E.g here in Mauritius, Orange ISP 512kbps connection offers 512kbps international connection and 2mbps for local connection. In case you have such ISP, means that locally servers will be faster to access than international ones.

There are also many other causes for low speed, e.g high speed internet but unstable internet connection, these happens mostly in wireless connection, where packets are “lost” during transmission.
