Online Gaming Lagging Problem

online gaming lagging problem

Blizzard Entertainment rolled out the Echoes of Doom content patch update to World of Warcraft in mid-October. It’s quite the major update and it sets the stage for the Wrath of the Lich King expansion that we can expect to see in November.

Blizzard certainly had some problems on roll-out day and since then there’s been lots of downtime and lagging on servers. In fact, there’s been so much latency I’ve just about decided to stay logged off for a week or so until they get it all fixed, but this seems to be typical with any major WoW patches.

But despite the problems, lots of players have had a chance to explore some of the new content. Echoes of Doom brings with it some new talents for every character class, as well as new abilities and spells. If you play PvP, there are also two new arenas, but since I stick to PvE I haven’t seen them.

If you’ve grown to hate the way your toon looks, there’s some good news for you. Echoes of Doom brings with it some barber shops! Located in the big cities, if you’re willing to spend the gold, you can now get a haircut, a shave and change the way your face looks (isn’t that more like plastic surgery?). Unfortunately, the haircuts are pretty pricey and I think I’d personally just rather hang onto my gold. There are better things to spend it on. But if you have money to burn, go for it!

The biggest and best feature in the Echoes of Doom patch is definitely the new Achievements system, by a long shot. You can basically get Achievements for doing all kinds of different things, including getting that haircut! So far there are at least 500 different ways to gain achievements and you can get them whether you play PvE or PvP. Basically you should earn achievement points for anything significant – such as getting a new mount, learning a new profession, or completing a quest line, etc. But there’s also the just fun achievements points for the previously mentioned haircut. And if you tend not to look where you are going, you can get achievement points for falling big distances.

So have fun exploring the new patch while you wait for Wrath of the Lich King to become available.

If you want to get the jump on Wrath of the Lich King, but still have a ways to go before level 70, get your hands on one of the Zygor Leveling Guides. Fully compatible with the Echoes of Doom patch, Zygor will get you to level 70 fast and an update will arrive just in time to get you to level 80.
