Kazuya Mishima, son of Heichachi Mishima is one of the most recognisable characters in Tekken. These two characters have a lot of history, as Heihachi threw Tekken Kazuya off of a cliff when he was only 5 years old, as he wanted to discard him as he believed him to be too weak. Heihachi thought that he would surely die, but if by somehow he could survive and climb back up, he was worthy of being his son. It turns out that Kazuya made a deal with the Devil that would allow the Devil to eventually have his body if he gave him the strength to first have his revenge over Heihachi.

Once the King of Iron Fists tournament was announced, Kazuya saw this as the perfect opportunity for revenge, as the tournament was run by the Mishima Corporation. Upon winning the tournament, Kazuya them takes his revenge by throwing his father off of the same cliff that he had been thrown all those years ago.

Tekken Kazuya was the main character and ‘poster boy’ of the game until Jin Kazama (Kazuya’s son) came along and took the mantle from him. In terms of style, Tekken Kazuya is somewhere between Heihachi and Jin, which is rather fitting considering he is in the middle of the family tree. He shares moves with both characters, but often ranked in official tier lists lower down than both of these characters.

One of Kazuya’s most famous moves is the ‘Rising Dragon’, where he crouches, spins round and moves towards his opponent. As he is spinning, electricity (or something like it) can be seen whirring round his body, before he eventually delivers and uppercut to his foe. This, and variations of this move are generally used to end Jin’s combos.
