How can I make sure an online community election isn’t fraud?
Okay so this is a gamers community for an online game and we are trying to elect a mayor. Last time the election was frauded by cheating. We use SMF forums and I know that’s pretty vurnerible so is their any good way to make sure an election in an online community is NOT frauded?
Nothing can be stopped. But you can make it harder.
If someone with their own server or webpage can host it then it will help. Anyone who has direct access to the systems logs. I can turn on logging features which record a ton of info from each connection. Comparing those entries can usually point out obvious efforts at cheating. Even if people use proxies and different IPs you can usually see similarities that stand out.
