Does World of Warcraft use a unique programming language that deter bots?
One of the reasons why WoW is so successful is the strict crack down on cheaters/botters. I’m wondering why and how it’s so. Is it because WoW is written in a different language than conventional online games or do they have some kind unique system structure used for bot detection? Could you also name the language they use?
When WoW client starts up, it launches another program called Warden, which is WoW’s anti-cheat features. The reason it is effective while a lot of others are not is that it does things (like monitor all other processes running on your machine) that really make it borderline spyware and few companies would be willing to risk releasing into the public for fear of PR backlash.
