How to recover/improve yourself from an addiction?
Hi
1> I m addicted to games , porn , movies , music , yahooanswers & wasting time on stupid things .
2> I watch porn everyday for about 5-8 hrs.If not porn then i play games online .If not games then i answers strangers on yahooanswers.
3> I have failed in exams and have left studies.
4> I feel a lot of pressure and i m very depressed since birth.
5> I just don’t like sturding.Every friend of mine has passes i feel bad about that.
6> Whenever i see someone enjoying i feel jealous.I wonder y can’t i b like that.
Any suggestions? Or ur opinion on this ?
And also do u think i m stupid ?
Do u too have suffered like this ?
Is this normal in today’s electronic world?
Do u think i will ever improve?
Well if there’s one thing to remember it is this, where the attention goes the energy goes. The only way you can break a habit is by replacing it with another habit. You replace it by another habit by holding some image inside your head of where you want to go. Watching porn for 5-8 hours does seem like a long time. You have all this energy built up for some things. Rather than waste it, it may be better to redirect it in more fruitful endeavors. I suggest you search out the pua community. They can help you redirect your focus to more productive activities. No point fighting against the current, you’ll only use twice as much energy and get no where. As for exams, you are failing because you’re not interested. There are other priorities in your life you have to work through before you can kindle that interest. And that interest comes only when you learn more and develop the connections in your mind of how and why parts of what they teach are useful. It’s really a backwards system anyhow, so i’m not surprised. You’re not alone. I felt the same way going through school. I used to fail all my tests in school because of complete lack of interest. My mind was other places. I go back to classes now, and i ace every exam a or a+. You can improve anything you set your mind to. Only you know your strengths and weaknesses. You can recognize your weaknesses and work to improve them. There’s just so many thought that come into play, self esteem, motivation, direction, and the whole gamut of what a person can do to improve themselves after they’ve redirected their focus, so feel free to send me a message. Just click on my profile. Good luck man ~!
