Failure of Windows Vista and Ubuntu?
This question has two parts. 1. Recently, and now more often, my PC has problems. The screen freezes and all I can do is restore power. It happens every time I load my PC, for example, when I play Crysis and some graphics heavy lifts or when I open too many windows in Mozilla, or when I edit a video. It seems rather strange, and I tried many things like uninstalling Nero, with new codecs Vista, and some things I could find online, but it still happens. My computer specifications are: Vista 32-bit -3 GB of RAM, hard drive 350 Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz – NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT, what I can do? 2?. A tip reocmmended I was using Ubuntu. I can play video games, especially WoW, Crysis and Halo, so I do not know if Ubuntu is compatible with them. Furthermore, Ubuntu is a value? I have Vista to play games like Crysis and Halo of course
1. There are many possibilities here and narrowing down to find the root of the problem is a task. This could be a problem with the video driver. Check to make sure you have the latest version. Also make sure you are updated on OS upgrades. You may be able to find useful information on what causes the problem in the Viewer event, which is in the Control Panel, Administrative Tools. This could also be related to the virus, although it is difficult to trace. If you run a software and anti-virus, try another to see if you get different results. Another possibility is hardware – download memtest 86, burn a boot disk and then to this record. It will check the RAM for you. The problems you describe could be bad memories, hearing or problems with the CPU card or video. RAM is easier testing. I know of no free program to test the rest. If the worst comes to worst, reinstall the operating system and see if you still have the same problem. If yes, pointing to either drivers or hardware. If you are new and still under warranty, have a professional look to it. Have better tools diagnostics that are free. 2. Like Linux, and Ubuntu is great. However, the only way to run applications in a Windows emulator. As this is a PC other virtual operating system, you will not have the same resources available for the host operating system uses memory cycles and the CPU. In other words, there is a decrease performance. There are also problems with games emulators, although I can not give details. Linux is not the solution in this case, however much they want it either. I firmly believe what we have is either faulty hardware or driver issue. As I said, get to the bottom of it will be a pain. You may want to simply invest in your store computer and pay them to make diagnoses. But I would start by running memtest, then do a clean install and install all patches and ensure that all drivers are up to date and see what happens. Start by adding a program at a time, and be sure to check the patches for this program before installing the next. See if you can find the point where it develops problems. The computer should be fine with Vista, and run on systems with similar specifications without any problem but may be something silly like a driver conflict. If your computer came with Vista and is still under warranty, take advantage it and contact the manufacturer for assistance.
